"Four Reasons to NOT HATE on Burpees"

gym

Burpees and CrossFit go together like peanut butter and jelly. Just like how you can never have too much peanut butter and jelly, you can never have too many burpees in a CrossFit workout. In fact, if you ask a CrossFitter about burpees, they'll probably tell you that they're the best part of the workout. (Or, at least that's what they'll say sarcastically between gasps for air and sweat-soaked grunts.)

But jokes aside, Burpees have a very real place in your health and longevity - that's why we love to hate them.

HOW DO I INCREASE MY EFFORT AND INTENSITY?

#1 VERSATILITY

Burpees are a full-body exercise that engage multiple muscle groups, including the chest, legs, arms, and core, making them a versatile and effective exercise for building overall strength and fitness.

#2 INTENSITY

Burpees are a high-intensity exercise that can boost heart rate and increase cardiovascular endurance, making them an effective way to improve cardiovascular health and burn calories.

#3 LONGEVITY

Burpees are essentially.....getting up and down off the ground. So when you are maturing in age, being active and STILL being able to do a burpee means you are increasing your longevity and quality of life! Having a fall in your senior years can cause a whole host of other health issues.

#4 CONVENIENCE

Burpees require no equipment, making them a convenient and effective exercise that can be performed anywhere, at any time. This makes them an accessible option for people looking to maintain fitness levels outside of a gym environment too!

"The aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness, supported by measurable, observable, and repeatable results. The program prepares trainees for any physical contingency—not only for the unknown, but for the unknowable."

- Greg Glassman, Co-founder of CrossFit.
